Are you looking to get started in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning? Are you interested in designing enquiries into your teaching, exploring student learning and enhancing your practice as an educator? This is the second in a series of 3 CPD sessions which will help you get started, regardless of where and when you are in your career.

Becoming a SoTLer usually involves a transition in academic disciplines from your 'home' discipline to education. For some people, that transition is a significant distance, for others it is more comfortably negotiable. However, engaging in SoTL usually means engaging if forms of enquiry, settings of enquiry and forms of data that are not necessarily your forte.  It also often involves a different way of thinking and knowing, or applying knowledge, which can be confusing, unsettling and hard to negotiate. This session aims to support you in that disciplinary transition, recognising it and ideally embracing it! We will explore methods to explore your practice and some of the ethical considerations that are at play in this complicated teacher-researcher context.

This session is open to staff of the University of Glasgow. Graduate Teaching Assistants are welcome to register for the purpose of developing their own teaching practice, but please note that these sessions are not suitable for any students seeking training for their own PhD research projects. Contact your School for information on the research methods training available to you as a student. For the avoidance of doubt as to eligibility, please register using your staff email address.
