Glasgow Changing Futures

The GCF Activation Call is designed to help develop novel challenge-led ideas. Proposals should address current or emerging societal challenges that can benefit from interdisciplinary collaboration and have the potential to grow into future externally funded opportunities.

Proposed ideas should respond to a significant societal, economic, environmental, cultural or technological challenge, whether that's an issue we're facing today or one likely to emerge in the future.

Selected ideas will be supported through a series of facilitated cross-disciplinary workshops organised by the GCF team. These sessions will help participants:

  • Explore and refine challenge-focused ideas
  • Connect with colleagues and build new interdisciplinary collaborations
  • Shape emerging ideas into credible future funding proposals

While the GCF Activation Call does not provide direct project funding, it offers dedicated support to help colleagues develop and strengthen new ideas. By bringing together expertise from different disciplines, it creates opportunities to test concepts, build collaborations, and lay the foundations for future competitive funding bids.

The call will open on Tuesday 18th August. You can find information about the call on the Glasgow Changing Futures website.

Queries about the fund and the application process should be directed to gcfseedfund@glasgow.ac.uk
