Today, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on the inspiring journey of our very own Dr Sofiat Olaosebikan. Sofiat joined the University of Glasgow as a PhD student, and 10 years on, she is now a lecturer, inspiring the next generation through her teaching, research and outreach work.
“UofG is 575, unbelievable, and I’ve been at UofG for 10! It feels overwhelming to be a part of UofG, because ask me 20 years ago if someone like me coming from my small local town in Bajulaiye, Shomolu in Lagos could one day be a lecturer at this University my response would be no, because I didn’t see myself here. And just being here shows me the power of showing up for yourself.” - Sofiat Olaosebikan
Throughout our special anniversary year, we’ve been sharing some incredible #UofG575Stories from the remarkable people who make up #TeamUofG.
