Maaike Siegerist is a Dutch singer-songwriter with a beautiful, clear voice, who uses colourful jazz chords when writing songs on her Spanish guitar. Tom Robinson has praised her "delicate vocal" and "gorgeous chord changes" on BBC Radio 6 Music. Before moving to Scotland, Maaike won the songwriting competitions of Glastonbury FM and UWE Bristol in South West England.
Since joining the College of Science & Engineering, science has become a big inspiration for Maaike’s songwriting. Her original repertoire includes songs about space exploration and quantum physics, which she has previously performed at the Glasgow Science Festival, as well as acoustic versions of songs about astronomy and AI, written with her progressive rock band, Long Earth.
Jonni Slater will be joining Maaike on keyboard and vocals. A versatile keyboardist and a cinematic singer-songwriter in his own right, he's a sought-after musician in Glasgow’s music scene, playing keys in the funk outfit DopeSickFy and the backing bands of Ant Thomaz and Becci Wallace.
