Our 2026/27 GO Justice Centre annual lecture will be delivered by Kehinde Adeogun, Director of Legal Services and Policy at the Black Equity Organisation (BEO), in conversation with Jen Ang, Professor in Practice at the GO Justice Centre at the University of Glasgow School of Law.

Kehinde Adeogun will share insights into ground-breaking strategic litigation that BEO has worked towards, and the labour involved in: bringing a claim, acting as an intervenor, and providing witness evidence in various legal challenges. She'll discuss examples from their legal challenge against the Ministry of Justice’s tagging programme for ex-offenders, as well as a case challenging the permanent exclusion of a young Black boy from education who had been exploited into a county line gang.

This lecture will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Pro Bono Week UK by exploring the contribution of pro bono programmes – from university law clinics to partnerships with private law firms – to the pursuit of access to justice for all.

Speakers

Kehinde Adeogun

Kehinde Adeogun is the Director of Legal Services and Policy at the Black Equity Organisation (BEO), a civil rights charity that uses the law to challenge systemic racism.

She is a solicitor who has always practiced in the not-for-profit sector, specialising in social welfare law. She is a firm believer that access to justice should not depend on an individual’s ability to pay. That all the tools of the legal system, in conjunction with campaigning, should be utilised to work with marginalised communities that are all too often left behind.
