The 1970s in America was a turbulent decade of huge social and political upheaval. Bringing together colleagues from the University of Glasgow, this evening event will take us back to this moment in time, marked by the Vietnam war, the Watergate scandal and a growing anti-war movement.
Drawing on themes and ideas explored in Hunterian exhibition THROUGH A MIRROR, DARKLY, University of Glasgow lecturers and researchers will explore the literature and music of the 1970s, alongside the politics and protests of the period.
This series of short talks will be followed by an audience Q&A and an opportunity to see the exhibition after hours. Refreshments will be served.
