Celebrate Scotland’s rich cultural heritage and the life of Robert Burns with an unforgettable Burns Night Ceilidh!

Join us for an evening of ceilidh dancing, delicious Scottish food, and lively music performed by the fantastic Shore Road Ceilidh Band. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a complete beginner, this event is perfect for everyone looking to embrace Scottish traditions.

Event Highlights:
Ceilidh Dancing: Enjoy dancing to the lively tunes of the Shore Road Ceilidh Band. Don’t worry if you’re new to ceilidhs—we’ll guide you through the steps on the night!

Traditional Scottish Feast:

Haggis, Neeps & Tatties Buffet (with all dietary needs catered for).
Followed by a very special Scottish dessert.
Dress Code: Formal attire is encouraged! Wear traditional Scottish dress or traditional clothing from your home country and don’t forget your dancing shoes!

What is Burns Night?
Burns Night celebrates Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, famous for his iconic works like Auld Lang Syne and Address to a Haggis. It’s a time to honor his legacy with food, music, and dance.


Time:

Doors open: 6:30 PM (bar available).
Ceilidh starts: 7:00 PM.
Buffet served: 8:00 PM.
Tickets: £5. Please use your university email when booking and bring your ticket (printed or digital) on the night.

Shuttle Bus: We will provide a free shuttle bus from the Whitesands and outside Dumfries Halls at 6:30pm and after the event finishes at 10:00pm. If this is something you are interested in please ensure you add this to your order form.

Taster Sessions: Want to learn some ceilidh moves before the event? Join our taster sessions on Wednesday, 13th and 21st January from 12:00 -1:00pm in M6.
