ONWARD! Flaherty Film Seminar Gathering

The first of three events as part of the 70th annual Flaherty Film Seminar, ONWARD!, will take place at Kelvin Hall, presented in partnership by LUX Scotland and The Hunterian to coincide with Margaret Salmon’s exhibition‘Assembly’. The event pairs two films that explore gendered labour in the different socio-economic contexts of Cuba, thirteen years after the Revolution, and Britain during the dramatic changes of 2020/21: Sara Gómez’s documentary film ‘Mi Aporte /My Contribution’ (1969) and Margaret Salmon’s ‘Icarus (after Amelia)’ (2021).
The screening will be followed by an hour-long discussion where the audience is invited to consider the films together.
