Isabel Stilwell is a journalist and a writer, dedicated to investigating and writing about the impressive lives of women who should not be forgotten. The great success of the historical novel Filipa de Lencastre (2007) was followed by a further twelve historical best-selling novels. Four of her novels are translated into English: Philippa of Lancaster: English Princess, Queen of Portugal; Catherine of Braganza: the Courage of a Portuguese Infanta who Became Queen of England; D. Maria II: the Extraordinary Friendship of Mary and Victoria, Two Queens in a World of Men; and Isabel of Portugal: Duchess of Burgundy.
