Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop where you'll learn how to make your own natural paint kit from rocks found around Scotland. You will transform ground earth pigments into beautiful water-based paints. No experience needed – just your curiosity! You’ll even make your own painting using natural pigments and materials.
All materials will be provided, but please bring a few small jars to take your paints home.
The workshop will be led by artist and facilitator Grace Browne. She is inspired by her Nigerian foremother’s body and mural arts and their deep relationship with nature. Grace uses earth pigments and natural materials in her paintings and films to share celebratory stories of reconnecting with ancestry and nature.
Come along, get your hands dirty, and experience the joy of creating paints from the land around us!
