Join us at the Hunterian Museum for a fun, family day of hands-on activities, uncovering the wonders of Scotland's ancient past.

From sharp-toothed sharks to early amphibians, explore fossils from a time millions of years ago, when Scotland was a tropical jungle teeming with strange creatures and giant plants!

Get creative with fossil rubbings and reconstruct an ancient forest. Bring the Bearsden Shark to life by recreating your own version of this prehistoric creature! Explore some of the Museum's fascinating fossil collection, and discover how the world of the Carboniferous period connects to Scotland as we see it today.

Suitable for children aged 6+ with an accompanying adult.

This event is part of Glasgow Science Festival 2025, which runs from 5–15 June 2025. Full details of the GSF25 programme can be found here.
