The Service of Remembrance on our campus is an important event in the life of the University. The University chapel was built as a Memorial following the First World War, and was dedicated in 1929 to the Glory of God in memory of the 781 members of the University community whose lives were lost in that conflict. Their names are carved on tablets behind the Communion table at the East End of the Chapel. Other tablets on the walls immediately to the East of the stalls contain the names of the 405 members of the University who are known to have given their lives in the war of 1939-45.
Those who wish to view the wreaths may do so in the Garden of Remembrance after 11.30am on Saturday 9 November.
