We are coming up to the 10th anniversary of the forceful disappearance of 43 students from the locality of Ayotzinapa, in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. 

The Glasgow-based artist Jan Nimmo will be setting up an exhibit in the ARC showcasing her portraits of the 43 students as part of her exhibit "¿Dónde Están? (Where Are They?)"

The opening of the exhibit on the 25th of September will be accompanied by a screening of the short film ¿Dónde Están? (Where Are They?). We will also be showing a screening of Mirar Morir a documentary by Coizta Grecko. Attendees and visitors to the exhibit will be given the opportunity to record a message expressing their solidarity for the families and communities affected by forceful disappearance.

Synopsis:

On 26 September 2014, students from the Ayotzinapa college in Guerrero, Mexico were attacked by local police, leaving a toll of six dead. A further 43 students disappeared that night, and have not been seen since. The documentary explores the role of the military and local government authorities in the forceful disappearance of 43 students and the cover-up campaign which swiftly followed.
