The British Council, in partnership with LinkedIn China, are hosting the Study UK Career Development Workshop to provide Chinese students with up-to-date information about China’s job market, trends of industrial development, employer expectations and the recruitment process that China-based employers usually follow for returning graduates.

The workshop will also include UK job market information sharing and advices on looking for a job in the UK.

This year, British Council, in partnership with LinkedIn, invited speakers who are senior managers and HR directors from leading international Chinese companies and the UK, representing a diverse range of industries, as well as Study UK Alumni Awards winner who have developed their career in the UK.

Other event details

The workshop will be delivered mainly in Chinese. The main format of the workshop will be keynote speeches, panel discussions, with live Q&A sessions facilitated between students and the speakers. Topics of discussion will cover:  

  • insights into China’s job market and current development trends  
  • talents preferred by top employers in China 
  • strengthens and weaknesses of returning graduates in the job market
  • experience and skills development 
  • process and conditions of recruitment 
  • starting a business upon graduation 
  • preparing for the job hunt and interviews 

The workshop will last for two hours, including Q&A.
