UBDC Meetup Crowdsourced Data - From Mobile Apps to Citizen Science
Big data is an important tool for understanding the world around us. With smartphones and internet connected devices come new ways to gather data directly from individuals. At the same time, there is an increased emphasis on public involvement with research with methods such as citizen science. This meetup aims to bring together people interested in these kinds of crowdsourced data, whether you are an experienced practitioner or curious to know more. Researchers from UBDC will share their own work via informal lightning talks, but feel free to bring and share your own experiences or questions.
