Did you know that 1 in 3 adults will require treatment for high blood pressure at some point in their lives? 

High blood pressure (hypertension) is a common condition that affects a significant number of adults. If left untreated, it can lead to serious health problems. 

May is May Measurement Month and May 17th is World Hypertension Day - promoted by the World Hypertension League and the International Society of Hypertension to raise awareness about hypertension globally and help people check their blood pressures and understand their numbers.  

The Glasgow Blood Pressure Clinic Team (Dr Stefanie Lip, Dr Linsay McCallum, Professor Sandosh Padmanabhan) and the Glasgow Clinical Research Facility along with a team of early career researchers from SCMH, and medical and nursing students from the University of Glasgow have organised a series of hypertension awareness events in May.

University event - 17th of May 2023

Venue: Room 222, BHF Glasgow Cardiovascular Research Centre

Time: 9am - 12pm and 2pm to 4pm

Outreach events

14th of May 2023, Sunday - 11am - 4pm - Glasgow Gurdwara.  

23rd of May 2023, Tuesday - 12pm - 4pm - Fairfield Club, Govan 

26th of May 2023, Friday - 12pm to 4pm - Glasgow Central Mosque
