The Hunterian
Date: Thursday 26 January 2023
Time: 17:30 - 20:00
Venue: Hunterian Museum
Category: Social events

All University staff are invited to this evening event in the Hunterian Museum to celebrate the birth of our national poet Robert Burns and enjoy our collections after hours.

We'll be hosting live Scottish music from the Royal Conservatoire and will feature recitals of traditional Burns poetry. Wee ones can enjoy our arts and crafts activities and try out our children's trail. Spend some social time with colleagues in the beautiful setting of the Hunterian Museum and enjoy some free drinks and nibbles.

On 25 January every year, people from all over the world celebrate the life of works of Scotland's National Bard, Robert Burns. Taking place on the anniversary of his birth, these celebrations bring together friends to enjoy some good food and drink (haggis and whisky!), poetry and songs. We hope that you can join us at this all-staff event.

Admission is free and all staff and their families are welcome. Places are limited so please confirm your attendance as soon as possible. If you need to get in touch about this event please contact Rachel on rachel.hughes@glasgow.ac.uk.

*This event is funded by the Ferguson Bequest. Professor Thomas Ferguson (1900-1977), Henry Mechan Chair of Public Health (1944-64), bequeathed his estate to the University, with the instruction that the money should be used to foster the social side of University life.*
