This is the first talk that will explore communication traits from different cultures including non-verbal communication, understanding own communication behaviours, how they shape our expectations of each other and their impact on businesses and organisations. The event is open to the whole of the university and participants can join one or both talks

Pheona and Micheal Matovu from Radiant and Brighter will be giving two talks for the University of Glasgow Black History Month on Tuesday 5 October, 2021. They founded this initiative to provide support for migrant communities with the aim to bridge the gap between the needs of the growing BME refugee and migrant communities and existing support provision in Scotland. Each session will include a 30-minute talk on the topic after which participants will engage in a brief exercise and a question-and-answer session.
Talk 1: 11am- 12.30 'Cross-Culture Communication'
We will explore communication traits from different cultures including non-verbal communication, understanding own communication behaviours, how they shape our expectations of each other and their impact on businesses and organisations. Participants will also learn about cultural differences and communication traits within different minority ethnic communities and Scottish society.
