The Ghost of Christmas yet to come: Looking ahead to the coming year(s) of the Brexit process

Policy Scotland is delighted to welcome back is welcome back Sir Ivan Rogers to give a public lecture on the future of Brexit.

As we head into another Brexit extension, and with a general election imminent, he will take a look at what really comes next, as opposed to what politicians are telling us comes next...

Sir Ivan was the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the European Union from November 2013 until his resignation in January 2017.

Last year’s Policy Scotland lecture by Sir Ivan on The history and origins of Brexit was exceptionally popular.

About Sir Ivan Rogers

Sir Ivan has served in a variety of positions in the civil service including senior roles under prime ministers from Tony Blair onwards.

He was the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the European Union from November 2013 until his resignation on 3 January 2017. In this position, he was the UK's most senior negotiator with other Member States and the European institutions.

Since leaving the civil service he has written and spoken widely on Britain, the EU and Brexit. His essay Nine Lessons in Brexit was published earlier this year.
