David Wilson is Emeritus Professor of Criminology at Birmingham City University and one of the country’s leading Criminologists. A former Prison Governor – including time spent at HMPs Wormwood Scrubs, Grendon and Woodhill where he helped to design and then ran the units for the 12 most violent men in the country – he graduated with an UG degree in History from Glasgow University and a PhD from Selwyn College Cambridge I in 1983. His professional memoir was published in 2019 – My Life with Murderers – and in 2017 he won the Broadcast Award and Royal Television Society Award for “best documentary” for his Channel 4 Interview with a Murderer. His current TV series is David Wilson’s Crime Files which he presents on BBC Scotland.
