Short Description

This course will equip students to explore and understand the values that underpin youth and community ministries in a Christian context or Christian perspective. It draws on theological principles consistent with youth and community work while rooting these values in Christian tradition expressed through Scripture, theology, general church practice and particular expressions of Christian faith communities. The course will support participants to construct and reflect on their own convictions before exploring the values which enable partnership working in communities and churches expressed through Christian youth ministry, youth or community work, or in relevant secular work or volunteering roles. This course partners the 'Youth and Community Ministries: Practices' but they can be taken in any order. Reflection on a placement is an essential part of the course, but you do not need to be an experienced youth worker.
