The University of Glasgow has been accepted as a member of the Defence Universities Alliance (DUA), joining the Universities of Edinburgh and Strathclyde to help shape the Alliance's strategic direction.
The University of Glasgow has been accepted as a member of the Defence Universities Alliance (DUA). Announced today (13 July) by the Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry, the DUA is a partnership of 35 universities and Universities UK, established to strengthen collaboration between higher education, government and industry in support of the UK's defence and national security priorities.
The University of Glasgow is one of three Scottish universities represented on the DUA, joining the Universities of Edinburgh and Strathclyde to help shape the Alliance's strategic direction.
By bringing together government, academia and industry in a more strategic and coordinated way, the Alliance will help ensure the UK has the research capability, skills base and resilience required to respond to an increasingly complex and uncertain global environment. It also provides a framework for universities to work collectively with government and industry partners on shared challenges and opportunities.
Through its participation in the Alliance, the University will help strengthen national security while supporting the development of future skills, innovation and wider economic growth.
All research carried out at the University of Glasgow is governed by the University’s Code of Good Practice in Research, alongside established processes for ethical review, due diligence, and trusted research.
