The University of Adelaide was established in 1874 and is consistently ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide. It is associated with five Nobel laureates and is part of the Group of Eight.

Adelaide is a city of 1.3 million people and home to 75% of the population of South Australia. It stretches from the coast to the foothills of the Mount Lofty ranges and is built on the land of the Kaurna people. The city, which was planned out in grids with wide boulevards and large public squares, as well as a number of parks, is a champion of religious freedom, political progressivism and civil liberty.
