Dr Konstantinos Gerasimidis is Lecturer in Clinical Nutrition and leader of the MSc (Med Sci) Human Nutrition-Clinical Nutrition Specialisation module. He is also associate of the Institute of Health and Wellbeing. Konstantinos’ research interests focus on the nutritional status, body composition, and micronutrient deficiencies in chronic and acute illness (e.g. coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, intensive care unit, phenylketonuria, congenital heart defects, juvenile idiopathic arthitis) and in the assessment of disease-associated malnutrition risk in paediatric and adult hospitalised patients. He is also interested in the role of diet and enteral/parenteral nutrition on the intestinal microbiota and interventions using probiotics and prebiotics.
