ATHENA SWAN

The Equality Challenge Unit’s Athena SWAN Charter was established in 2005 to recognise and promote the careers of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM). 

After achieving Athena SWAN bronze award status in 2016, our self-assessment team (SAT) focused on three main aims. Significant progress was made in each area, leading to the award of Silver Departmental status in May 2020.
