Modernism, Avant-Garde and Twentieth-Century Literature and Culture

The Glasgow Modernism, Avant-Garde and Twentieth-Century Literature and Culture cluster is one of the strongest concentrations of its kind in the UK, with one of the largest and most active postgraduate communities in the College of Arts & Humanities.

We supervise research students on a vast range of topics in the field of modernist, avant-garde, and twentieth century studies, and we offer a dedicated taught Master’s programme, the M.Litt. in Modernities, which has an international reputation for delivering outstanding research-led teaching, with a particular focus on interdisciplinary and theoretically informed approaches to the study of modern literature and culture.
