Internationalisation Consultation Day

Published: 23 October 2014

Plans have been announced for an Internationalisation Consultation Day on Thursday, 27 November. A message from Professor James C. Conroy, Vice Principal (Internationalisation).

The current Internationalisation Strategy expires in 2015 and we are currently engaged in a process of consultation to inform the development of the post 2015 Strategy.

I am aware that various consultations are being undertaken at the moment, specifically the updating of our Glasgow 2020 strategy and that there is always a danger of being overburdened with conversation.  Nevertheless it is a good thing to bring together our collective reflections on where we want to go as a civically rooted' internationally focused university.   With this in mind, I should like to invite all staff to attend an Internationalisation Consultation Day on Thursday, 27 November

The day will take place in the Main Building and will be broken down into four parts.  Part One will be aimed at giving staff the opportunity to shape the direction of the post-2015 Internationalisation Strategy and will include a brief overview of the emerging themes followed by an open discussion facilitated by Denis Fischbacher-Smith.

The remainder of the day will comprise a number of theme based conversations covering a range of specific areas which the post 2015 Strategy is likely to address.  You are invited to attend for the whole or part of the day, depending on your availability and areas of interest.

The exact timings with the full details of the theme based sessions together with the registration details will be available shortly.

I do hope that you will be able to join me and my colleagues on Thursday, 27 November for what  we hope to be an engaging and purposeful  day.

Jim
