Learning & Teaching Development Fund 2014-15

The Learning and Teaching Development Fund supports developments in Learning and Teaching which are innovative, sustainable, transferable and contribute to the delivery of the objectives of the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy.

The Learning and Teaching Development Fund supports developments in Learning and Teaching which are innovative, sustainable, transferable and contribute to the delivery of the objectives of the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy. Awards made through this scheme have greatly contributed to the enhancement of learning and teaching across the University.

Bids will be welcomed in relation to the following priority themes:

  • New technology-supported, pedagogical approaches that enhance the student learning experience.
  • Developing critical thinking through personalised learning.
  • Embedding student mobility within the curriculum.

Bids will also be considered in other priority areas of:

  • Enhancing of student learning using the University’s Graduate Attributes framework.
  • Projects that align with QAA’s latest enhancement theme: Developing and Supporting the Curriculum.
  • Enhancing student retention. Proposals that focus on supporting induction/transition of new students into the University’s learning environment and address how we enhance engagement of students with learning, and develop their reflective learning skills in first year will be particularly welcomed.
  • Assessment and Feedback - particularly projects aimed at improving students’ experiences of assessment and feedback.

Expressions of interest for medium (£3k - £20k) and large bids (£20k - £30k) need to be submitted to Dr Vicky Gunn, by 7 March 2014.

Actual medium or large bids should be submitted electronically, with Head of School/Dean (Learning and Teaching) approval sent by internal mail) to Mrs Mary Ramsay, PA to Vice Principal (Learning & Teaching) by 9 April 2014.

Applications for small bids (up to £3k) should be submitted to the relevant College Dean of Learning and Teaching by 9 April 2014.
