Learning and Teaching Development Fund
The Learning and Teaching Development Fund (LTDF) was established in 2000-01 to support developments in Learning and Teaching which are innovative, sustainable, transferable and contribute to the delivery of the objectives of the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy. Awards made through this scheme have greatly contributed to the enhancement of learning and teaching across the University.
The LTDF call for bids 2013 - 2014 is now available.
A call for bids is issued to all University staff for small (up to £3k) and medium to large scale projects (up to £30k) to support developments in learning and teaching as identified below for session 2013-14.
All bids must be submitted in accordance with the LTDF guidelines (in the LTDF call for bids 2013 - 2014) by Wednesday 10th April 2013 and will be considered by the Learning and Teaching Committee in June. The outcomes will be announced in July 2013.
Please note:
The majority of the funding will be earmarked in support of the new Learning and Teaching Strategy objectives, particularly those related to:
- innovation in the curriculum: Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching (TELT): using technologies to enhance the student learning experience or to develop innovative new provision;
- projects that align with QAA’s latest enhancement theme: Developing and Supporting the Curriculum;
Bids will also be considered that align with enhancing of student learning using the University's Graduate Attributes framework and in other priority areas of enhancement of student retention and assessment and feedback;
Funding may be used to match other funding if objectives align to priorities of Learning and Teaching Strategy.
Applications for small bids (up to £3k) should be submitted to the relevant College Dean of Learning and Teaching by Wednesday 10th April 2013.
Expressions of interest for medium /large projects (from £3k to £30k) need to be submitted to Dr Vicky Gunn, by Wednesday 20 March 2013. Final bids should be submitted electronically, with Head of School/Dean (Learning and Teaching) approval to Ms Fiona E Dick, Academic Policy Manager, Senate Office by Wednesday 10th April 2013.
All grants awarded will have to be spent by the end of July 2014/15.
