Fontys Hogescholen (Fontys University of Applied Sciences, or 'Fontys') is the largest Dutch university of applied sciences with several campuses in the southern Netherlands. It has a student body of 44,000.

Eindhoven is a city in the south of the Netherlands with a population of 223,000 inhabitants. Eindhoven is now a regional centre for culture and design, with the Dutch Design Academy residing the former Philips lamp factory and the Dutch Design Week being held in Eindhoven annually.
