Charles University in Prague

The Charles University in Prague was founded in 1347 and is the Czech Republic's oldest and largest university and the first university in Central Europe. It consistently ranks in the top 1.5% of the world and has a student population of approximately 50,000.

Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Prague is the fifth most visited European city with many attractions such as the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, the astronomical clock, the Jewish Quarter, Vyšehrad and Petřín hill. The extensive historic centre of Prague is a listed UNESCO world heritage site. The city also boasts many museums, theatres and galleries and is known for its many traditional taverns, its great beers and vivid nightlife. Its rich architecture sees a mix of gothic, baroque, art nouveau and cubism.
