This group attacks the Justice-Sentinels base at the start of the adventure. Dr. Demoniak is (very indirectly) responsible for the team's formation.
The following villains are involved:
Captain Bola considers himself to be a competent and powerful supervillain. He isnt. Or at least, hes certainly not in the same league as the PCs.
Powers and weapons:
Quote: "Now feel the sting of my Razor Bolas!", "Fall before the power of my Nega Bolas!", etc.
The Tangler is out of much the same mould as Captain Bola. A cheesy one schtick villain, no match for our heroes.
Powers and weapons:
Quote: "Its a mistake to tangle with the Tangler!"
When Craig Carson attempted to duplicate the radiation accident, which transformed Dr. Ray Beam Randall into Rockface, he became an even more monstrous stone-like being. He had become the Atomic Pile! The Pile is almost mindless. It cannot talk and alternates between blind rages and going off to be alone. Many supervillain masterminds have manipulated it over the years.
Appearance: The Pile is more monstrous looking than Rockface. It is even larger and looks like a humanoid heap of steaming radioactive slag. It has no neck, a slit for a mouth and two glowing yellow eyes.
Powers:
Quote: "Raargh!"
When petty criminal, Stan Skellan, fell into a vat of acid while robbing a science lab he thought his hour had come. However the chemicals had very peculiar properties. Instead of burning Stan they gave him the power to create and project quantities of acid from his hands. These chemicals had been developed by the mad scientist, Professor Zarin. Acidman is a small time villain. His power is actually pretty good, especially for burglaries, bank robberies etc. but Stan is unimaginative and has consistently failed to recognise big time.
Powers:
Quote: "I dont know nuttin. I wanna see my lawyer."
Blade Baron is a genuine English nobleman, Baron Blackvale. He has been many things, Olympic fencer, explorer, adventurer and now supervillain. All for the fun of it. He is a dashing Errol Flynn style swashbuckler. The most intelligent and capable of the villains involved in the base attack, he will probably try to make a getaway by diving through a mirror. (This may or may not work.) Blade Baron's arch-enemy is the British superhero, Sword Lord.
Appearance: Black pirate costume with domino mask, half-cloak and a hat with a red ostrich feather in it.
Weapons and abilities:
Quote: "Would we had time to dally further, dear lady, but I must depart ere the cops arrive."
This blue-skinned Atlantean has mastered the art of water wizardry and can make objects and creatures from water. Having been expelled from Atlantis, he needs money to continue his studies, which is why hes taken this job.
Powers:
The Reflection is a pretty weird guy, even for a supervillain. His life hasnt been the same since he fell into a mirror fifteen years ago. He usually looks like the person hes talking to, sometimes he cant be seen at all. He can transport himself and others through mirrors.
The Reflection will probably never be met, but the captured villains from the first fight may mention him to the PCs. His purpose is merely to transport the villains into the heroes base in a peculiar way. If the PCs somehow travel to the other side of the mirror, think fast.
Quote: Whatever the onlooker says.
