About the Group

The group was formed in 1994/95 with the support of a number of different groups on campus. Since then it has become one of the most active student groups. Its main aim is to publicicise human rights abuses in East Timor but it also tries to improve general knowledge of the politics and culture of the region. In the past the group has organised a number of events; a public memorial of the Dili massacre, a fund-raising concert and a series of public lectures. If you want to know more about the group - please e-mail us.

The group is also hoping to improve links to other uni groups. If you think your group might be interested in getting involved or just having a few people come to a meeting to talk about East Timor and the wider issues, please get in touch. Please also get in touch if you want to add yourself or your group to our list of supporters.
