English for Academic Study

English for Academic Study(EAS)supports students and staff whose first language is not English. We also provide Teacher Training and offer specialist courses in academic, business and general English.

Languages for International Mobility

We have an expanded programme of Languages for International Mobility, with courses offered in various languages. These courses, which are worth 10 credits each, are aimed at students who are interested in learning a language but for whom courses in SMLC's language degree provision may be unsuitable or unavailable.

All language learning in the University is supported by the Language Resource Library: browse, borrow or use our audio-visual and IT study facilities.
