Her research is currently focused on effects of exercise and diet on risk factors for, and the management of, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes in individuals with increased risk; impact of exercise training programmes on components of energy balance and biomarkers of appetite in overweight and obese individuals; high carbohydrate diets with low and high glycaemic index in relation to exercise energy metabolism and endurance exercise performance.
