Glasgow Paediatric Research Day 2024

 

The 15th Glasgow Paediatric Research Day will be held on Friday 8th November 2024, in the Teaching & Learning Centre, located on the Royal Hospital for Children and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus, 1345 Govan Road, Glasgow.  

This year,  we will see the event marking 100 years of the Samson Gemmell Chair of Child Health with the theme focusing on Academic Paediatrics, Past, Present and Future.  Invited speakers include Professor Lawrence Weaver, Professor Chris Halsey and Professor  Faisal Ahmed.

 

• The origins and development of academic paediatrics in Glasgow - Professor Lawrence Weaver, Samson Gemmell Chair of Child Health  1996 - 2011
• Bringing treatment of central nervous system leukaemia into the 21^st century - Professor Chris Halsey, Professor of Paediatric Haemato-Oncology & Head of School, Cancer Sciences

• Academic paediatric research – The world is your oyster’ - Professor Faisal Ahmed, Samson Gemmell Chair of Child Health 2011 - present

 

Registration and abstract submission will open Friday 7th June 2024

RCPCH application will be submitted for CPD accreditation in line with current RCPCH guidelines

Prizes awarded for best and runner-up oral and poster presentations

Certificates of attendance  issued on completion of webropol online survey
