Abstract

Algebras are the structure which model operations on modules. A plethory is a generalisation of this object constructed to model operations on algebras. I will define such an object algebraically. I then hope to illustrate how this structure models unstable cohomology operations for a generalised theory and discuss the extra structure imposed in this setting. If time permits, I will discuss how Dieudonne theory can help us manipulate such large objects in nice cases. The talk will contain small amounts of topology and algebraic geometry but will be entirely accessible!
