How to use the iCalendar feeds

Overview

Below are instructions on how to how to set up your computer or mobile device to have events in the School of Mathematics and Statistics display automatically in your favourite calendar application. Please note that if you download the iCalendar file in your browser and then import the .ics file you have downloaded into your calendar application, events will not be updated automatically. If you follow the instructions below, events will update automatically.

The URL of the iCalendar feed changes depending on the event series you want to subscribe to.

Based on your selection the iCalendar URL is

Instructions

  1. Click on File and then select Account settings ... from Account settings
  2. Select the tab Internet Calendars.
  3. Click the New button.
  4. Type or paste the iCalendar URL
     
    and then click on Add.
  5. You can rename the calendar in the Subscription Options dialog. Click on OK.
  6. Close the Account Setiings dialog by clicking on Close.
  1. Select Subscribe in the Calendar menu.
  2. Type or paste the iCalendar URL
     
    and then click on Subscribe.
  3. You can change the name and colour of the calendar in the next dialog. Click on OK.
  1. In the File menu click on New and then on Calendar....
  2. Select On the Network and click on Next.
  3. Select iCalendar (ICS), type or paste the iCalendar URL
     
    and then click on Next.
  4. You can change the name and colour of the calendar in the next dialog. Click on Next.
  5. In the next dialog click on Finish.
  1. Log in to your Google calendar account.
  2. Click on Other calendars and then on Add by URL.
  3. Type or paste the iCalendar URL
     
    and then click on Add Calendar.
  4. You can rename the calendar by clicking on arrow next to the newly created calendar and choosing Calendar settings.
