Abstract

We explain how triangulations of countable subsets of the circle S^1 can be used to define cluster algebras of (possibly) infinite rank. We show that the structure of these cluster algebras can be described as direct limits of cluster algebras of Dynkin type A, in the category of rooted cluster algebras as introduced by Assem, Dupont and Schiffler.
