For the second year in a row Glasgow has been ranked as the top Dentistry course in the UK, in the Complete University Guide 2017.
Laura McGarvie, BDS 4 student has received a prestigious Wolfson Foundation, Intercalated Award. This awards programme is administered by the Royal College of Physicians, London.
In June 2015 the Glasgow Dental School Big Band agreed to play a concert at the Glasgow University Union in aid of the Dental Appeal. The concert was a great success and was professionally recorded. The CD has now been released with all donations going to the Dental Appeal.
Claudia Wasige, who graduated BDS on July 1st 2016, was awarded the prize for ‘Outstanding Contribution from a Student’ at the Herald Higher Education Awards ceremony at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow on 14 July 2016.
Following their nomination for a College Teaching Excellence Award in April this year, the Dental School Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching team was successful in winning one of five University Teaching Excellence Awards.
The Pedalling Profs fundraising event for 2016 was a cycle from Dumfries to Troon over three days from Friday 29 April to Sunday 1 May.
Over 30 Glasgow BDS graduates from 1966 were in Glasgow on 17th and 18th June to celebrate their 50th Reunion. Some had travelled from as far away as Israel and Australia to join the ‘get together’
Following a successful application Professor Vince Bissell is to become the first Principal Fellow of the University of Glasgow Recognising Excellence in Teaching (RET) scheme.
