Glasgow Dental School is ranked number one in both the Complete University Guide and The Times / Sunday Times Good University Guide for 2017
A team of four students together with Prof Jeremy Bagg, Head of the Dental School, attended the INSPIRE Special Event for Dentistry 2016 that was organised by King’s Dental School in London and held on Saturday 8 October 2016.
As part of fund raising activity for the RCPS Glasgow Malawi Appeal, a team of 12 cyclists, led by the President of the RCPSG Professor David Galloway, set out on the ‘5 Ferries Challenge’ around the Firth of Clyde on Saturday 6th September.
The partnership between the University of Glasgow Dental School and the University of Rwanda School of Dentistry is in its second year. In June 2015 Mr Niall Rogerson, a Clinical University Teacher at Glasgow, visited the College of Medicine and Health Sciences in Kigali.
Laura McGarvie, BDS 4 student has received a prestigious Wolfson Foundation, Intercalated Award. This awards programme is administered by the Royal College of Physicians, London.
In June 2015 the Glasgow Dental School Big Band agreed to play a concert at the Glasgow University Union in aid of the Dental Appeal. The concert was a great success and was professionally recorded. The CD has now been released with all donations going to the Dental Appeal.
Claudia Wasige, who graduated BDS on July 1st 2016, was awarded the prize for ‘Outstanding Contribution from a Student’ at the Herald Higher Education Awards ceremony at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow on 14 July 2016.
Following their nomination for a College Teaching Excellence Award in April this year, the Dental School Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching team was successful in winning one of five University Teaching Excellence Awards.
