Gillian Doyle acted as Quality Controller for a major study on Indicators for Media Pluralism prepared on behalf of DG Information Society & Media of the Commission in 2008-09.  The report and accompanying Media Pluralism Monitor (a tool to assist in measuring levels of pluralism in member states) are intended to stimulate debate on media pluralism and to support regulatory work in this area in European member states.   The Final Report, the prototype of the Media Pluralism Monitor and its User Guide may be downloaded from the Europa - Information Society & Media website.  The study was led by K.U Leuven, ICRI Central European University and Jonkoping International Business School.  Gillian’s contribution as a member of the Quality Control Team for this project follows on from previous work as a consultant for the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on Media Concentrations and Pluralism.
