Erasmus+ Staff Mobility funding is now available for 2014-15, with opportunities across Europe for training for all staff, and teaching  in partner universities for academic staff. There are a number of changes to the requirements and funding for staff mobility under Erasmus+, so please check the webpages carefully.

22 Erasmus Staff mobility applications were approved in 2013-14, with successful applicants visiting 20 universities across Europe. Luis Gomes, Mobility Coordinator for the College of Arts, who visited the University of Granada last academic year, says: "I would recommend that all staff participate in such experiences as it allows one to see how other institutions manage their programmes, and learn from best practice. It is also useful to allow us to understand other cultures and be better citizens for it."

In addition to the direct professional and personal development of such international mobility, benefits reported by 2013-14 teaching participants included: • Strengthening of partner relations in order to better promote the exchange opportunity to students. • Meeting with current University of Glasgow students at the partner university on Erasmus exchange, building relations for future academic collaboration and on-going joint research projects. • Gaining new ideas for research and the course syllabus as a result of discussions with colleagues at partner universities. • Developing new teaching material for future courses at Glasgow. • Promoting the University of Glasgow to potential European postgraduate students.

Teaching and non-teaching staff are also eligible to apply for Erasmus training funding, which includes short secondments, training courses and job shadows.

Full details on the funding opportunities and how to apply can be found at the following University webpages:
