University hosts 30 of its leading recruitment agents from 16 countries as part of 'get-to-know-us' programme.

‌From Monday 28th to Wednesday 30th April, the University hosted 30 of its leading agents (spanning 16 countries) on a 3-day familiarisation programme. The programme focused on showing the agents the University campus and meeting Colleges directly in order to see their world-class facilities at first hand.

Recruitment agents group picLed by Senior International Officer, Caroline Boddie, who oversees the management of the University's agent network, the agents were also given a civic reception by Glasgow City Council and experienced what the city and its surroundings, such as Loch Lomond, have to offer an International student.

Although the focus was primarily on inviting agents from Commonwealth countries, designed to tie in with the Commonwealth Games in July, a selection of some of the University's other leading agents were also invited.

Agents account for nearly 40% of the international student population, and the International Office spends considerable time each year on in-country training for this extensive network of agents which the University have contracts with. This is the first time that resources have allowed the University to host an 'Agent Symposium', and following its success, it is now hoped these events can be held on a rolling basis every two years.
