The Optics group at the School of Physics and Astronomy are among a handful of successful teams involved in The Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition held in London from 30 June – 6 July 2014.

The Optics group at the School of Physics and Astronomy are among a handful of successful teams involved in The Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition held in London from 30 June – 6 July 2014.

Optics - School of Physics groupTheir exhibition titled "Creative Cameras" will showcase some of their cutting edge research to the general public, such as a single-pixel camera and a simple camera attachment for taking 3D pictures.

Their collaborators from Heriot-Watt University will also be demonstrating a camera that can take pictures fast enough to see the motion of light as it travels.

The "Creative Camera" team coordinated by Matt Edgar (Glasgow) and Jonathan Leach (Heriot-Watt) were recently selected to be one of the few exhibitions to receive special media attention during this years event, which is expected to attended by more than 13,000 visitors.
