Tributes have been paid to Mrs Anna Black, a former Secretary in the School of Chemistry who passed away recently.

Anna Black worked for the University of Glasgow for 33 years, six of them with Chemistry. She retired in May 2008.

Professor David Jackson, who was Head of Chemistry at the time, said: “Anna only worked in the Chemistry department for a small part of her time at the University but she is fondly remembered.

“Anna was a delight to work with, nothing was too much bother and she could be relied upon completely.  Anna made the department a nicer place to work with a smile and a kind word.  We were really sorry to lose her when she decided to take early retirement."
