The Principal has welcomed the results of the 2014 Staff Survey and has promised the University will 'listen and act' on the messages contained in the survey findings.

The Principal, Professor Anton Muscatelli, has welcomed the results of the 2014 Staff Survey and has promised the University will 'listen and act' on the messages contained in the survey findings.

He made the comments in a message to accompany the publication of detailed results from the survey which have been produced by Human Resources. The results are available to everyone in a new section of the Information for Staff pages. You can find it here: www.gla.ac.uk/staff/staffsurvey2014/

Professor Muscatelli says: "I am delighted that we managed to nearly double the response rate to 60%, compared to the last two surveys.  Like any such poll, the findings present really good news...and also opinions that will spur us to take action to improve the way we do some things."

The Staff Survey 2014 was independently conducted by Capita over a five week period up to 25 April 2014.  The anonymity of respondents was guaranteed.

The questionnaire consisted of a balance of quantitative and qualitative questions, and was split into 18 sections, covering a number of aspects of working life including:- Job Satisfaction; Work Experience; Harassment and Bullying; Work‐Life Balance; Equality and Diversity; Performance and Development Review (P&DR); Communication; Culture and Values; Leadership; Managing Change and Health, Safety and Wellbeing.

Full statistical information including job family breakdown can be downloaded from the Staff Survey pages. There is also further analysis of the response rates, key highlights, benchmarking and an outline of the next steps to form a collective response to the issues raised.
