Lords visit for Sue

Professor Susan Barnett, who leads the Glial Cell Biology Group within the Institute of Infection Immunity and Inflammation, visited the House of Lords to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs).

The NC3Rs is an independent scientific organisation that supports the UK science base by driving and funding innovation and technological developments that replace or reduce the need for animals in research and testing, as well as leading on improvements in welfare where animals continue to be used. It promotes robust and ethical scientific practice through collaborating with research funders, academia, industry, regulators and animal welfare organisations, both in the UK and internationally.

Susan was joined by professors Ian Jackson, MRC Human Genetics Unit at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine IGMM) and Cathy Abbott, Centre for Genomic and Experimental Medicine at the IGMM.
