The University has launched an eye-catching poster campaign to coincide with the XX Commonwealth Games.

Commonwealth Games Uni posterThe University has seized the opportunity at a time when all eyes are on Glasgow in the run-up to the big summer event. The team involved says it makes sense for the University to raise its profile amongst visitors to Glasgow, the local community and others for our key target markets.

An awareness campaign has been devised that capitalizes on the Games theme and positions the University of Glasgow as a successful, confident, game-changing institution in line with recent research about our reputation with key audiences.

The campaign will go live shortly, with the first advertisement appearing in the West End Festival brochure. Also included locally are advertisements on the side of taxis, at Glasgow Airport, and throughout the city's subway network on platforms and in the cars.

The Scottish Government has said the Glasgow 2014 Games will be a "powerful catalyst" for economic growth, regeneration and promoting healthy lifestyles. Scotland's sports minister told a recent Commonwealth heads of government meeting in Sri Lanka that the Games had captured the imagination of young people.
