Our research spans the key social, legal, economic and political questions of the day and, by the quality of our work, and the high grade expertise it embodies, we seek to influence national and international policy debates on matters such as drugs and alcohol misuse, crime, urban regeneration, economic and social policy, regime change and political transition, law reform, human rights, professional and corporate ethics.

We offer undergraduate degree programmes in law, accounting and social sciences. Our extensive range of exciting postgraduate taught programmes attracts students from across the world as well as from all parts of the UK. Our postgraduate training provision has been commended by the Economic & Social Research Council and our postgraduate research students benefit from studying with top flight international researchers in excellent facilities. Our graduates have a proven record of successful employment and many have gone on to hold significant prestigious appointments world-wide.
