Priority partner

The University of Glasgow signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The University of the West Indies which led to the establishment of the Glasgow-Caribbean Centre for Development Research (GCCDR).

GCCDR is co-located in Glasgow and the Caribbean, and aims to raise public awareness about the history of slavery and its impact around the world, and will host events and activities, sponsor research work, and coordinate academic collaborations with other universities. In it's first ten-year phase, the centre's activites will focus on three pillars.

Pillar 1: The chronic disease pandemic
Pillar 2: Economic growth development policies
Pillar 3: Tackling the cultural divide between Africa and the Caribbean.
